Cookie Policy
Effective date: 15 June 2026 · Last updated: 6 July 20261. What Are Cookies & Local Storage
A "cookie" is a small text file a website stores on your device so it can recognise your browser on your next visit. Modern web apps also use local storage and session storage — similar mechanisms built into your browser — to keep small pieces of information such as your login token. In this policy we refer to all of these together as "cookies and storage".
2. How We Use Them
We use cookies and storage strictly to make the Platform work for you:
- Keeping you signed in — so you don't have to log in on every page;
- Security — protecting your session and preventing cross-site request forgery (CSRF);
- Remembering preferences — such as your chosen location and recently viewed services;
- Basic performance — understanding, in aggregate, which pages load correctly so we can fix problems.
3. Cookies & Storage We Use
| Name / type | Purpose | Category | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Login token (browser local storage / auth cookie) | Keeps you signed in to your customer or professional account | Essential | Until logout or expiry |
| CSRF / security token | Protects forms and requests against forgery | Essential | Session |
| Location & service preferences | Remembers your selected area and recent services | Functional | Up to 12 months |
| Session identifier (PHP session) | Maintains your active session on the server | Essential | Session |
We do not set third-party advertising cookies, marketing pixels, or cross-site tracking cookies of any kind.
4. Third-Party Services
Some essential parts of the Platform are delivered through trusted third parties (for example, our SMS gateway for OTPs, our hosting provider, and mapping/geocoding services used to find nearby Professionals). These partners may set their own technical cookies solely to deliver their service, and are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own advertising. We do not control cookies set by external sites you navigate to from links on the Platform — please review their own cookie policies.
5. Do We Need Your Consent?
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, consent is not required for the strictly essential cookies needed to provide a service you have requested (for example, keeping you logged in). Functional cookies that remember your preferences are used on the basis of your continued use of the Platform, and you can clear or block them at any time as described below.
6. How to Control Cookies & Storage
You are always in control:
- Log out to clear your login token from this device;
- Use your browser settings to view, block, or delete cookies and local storage for xpertworker.com;
- Use private / incognito mode so storage is cleared when you close the window.
NOTE: BLOCKING ESSENTIAL COOKIES AND STORAGE WILL LOG YOU OUT AND MAY PREVENT PARTS OF THE PLATFORM FROM WORKING.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the Platform. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
